Barbara Bressack is the Chief Operating Officer at Volunteers of America Michigan.
She previously worked for Henry Ford Health for 20 years, most recently in the capacity of Vice President, Strategy & Planning. Barbara has worked in both the Strategic Planning department, as well as in Organizational and HR Development. Barbara’s role at Henry Ford required her to stay informed about healthcare services industry trends and the competitive market landscape to help guide the future direction of the organization. She was an integral member of the strategic planning team that guided the organization’s 2018 enterprise-wide strategic plan, as well as the 2024 enterprise strategic plan. Prior to serving as the Director and then VP of Strategy & Planning, Barbara was the Manager of Leadership Development where she oversaw multiple leadership development programs and employee engagement for HFH.
Barbara holds a Master of Health Services Administration from the University of Michigan, where she also received her Bachelor of Arts degree. While in her graduate school program, Barbara studied and worked abroad in South Africa focusing on the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
Barbara and her family live in Oakland County. She currently serves on the board of ACCESS and is the Secretary of the Board of Directors of Gesher Human Services (previously JVS+Kadima).
