George Khoury (posthumous)

George Khoury, Emeritus Board Member

George Khoury was born in Jerusalem, Palestine in 1942 and came to the United States in 1961. George earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Detroit and a master’s degree in business administration from Central Michigan University.

George was instrumental in establishing many Arab American organizations in metro Detroit. He was the former president and co-founder of Arab American University Graduates – Detroit chapter and co-founder of the Organization of Arab Students (OAS) at Wayne State University. George had been active with the Arab American Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) Michigan, the Ghassan Kanafani Cultural Foundation, and cofounder of The Holy Land Christian Ecumenical Foundation.

Presently, he is a posthumous board member of the Arab Community Center (ACCESS), editor-in-chief of Birzeit Society magazine and the president of the Birzeit Society of North America.
