Ibrahim Alhasbani was born and raised in the capital city of Yemen, Sana'a. His family has been growing coffee in the mountains of Sana'a for eight generations, and they instilled in him a love for coffee and a belief that Yemeni coffee was the best in the world. Ibrahim studied marketing at Sana'a University and worked with companies such as Red Bull and Nestle before immigrating to New York City in 2011. When he first arrived in the U.S., he was disappointed to experience coffee that tasted so uninspired and harsh - a stark contrast from the delectable drink he grew up loving in Yemen. He moved to Dearborn, MI in 2016 and opened the first Qahwah House location in 2017 with a simple goal: to introduce the American market to the finest coffee in the world directly from his family farms in Yemen. Qahwah House has since become a viral sensation with a dozen locations and plans to expand to 100 locations over the next five years. Ibrahim is proud to be responsible for creating a welcoming third space where all are welcome to experience Yemen's vibrant culture.
