During these most challenging times, ACCESS remains committed to alleviating suffering and creating a better future. Despite the immense pain we have all experienced in the last year, we have continued our dedication to the empowerment of millions across the state of Michigan and the rest of the country. With more than 120 programs operating in Southeast Michigan, along with four esteemed national institutions—the Arab American National Museum (AANM), the Center for Arab American Philanthropy (CAAP), the Center for Arab Narratives (CAN), and the National Network for Arab American Communities (NNAAC)—ACCESS honors our heritage while uplifting individuals and families regionally and amplifying the collective Arab American voice nationally.
The ACCESS Dinner honors our roots and unwavering commitment to our communities while highlighting all that we have worked for to accomplish our vision for the future. It's a unique opportunity for local and national supporters to come together for a powerful night that raises critical funds to help our agency rise to meet today's challenges, offer impactful programs, and address community needs.
This evening brings together almost 2,000 community members, friends and supporters including business, corporate and nonprofit leaders. The ACCESS 54th Anniversary Dinner promises to be a memorable night that highlights our cultural heritage and the achievements of people in our communities by honoring our distinguished 2025 Arab American of the Year, Dr. Rami Nashashibi. Dr. Nashashibi is a Palestinian American community activist, academic, artist, and founding Executive Director of Chicago-based nonprofit Inner-City Muslim Action Network (IMAN) which advances social justice, delivers a range of direct services, and cultivates the arts in urban communities. He is the recipient of several prestigious community service awards, including a 2017 MacArthur Fellowship, and his work has been featured on national and international media outlets.
