Frank Waln (Sicangu Lakota) is a 23-year-old award-winning hip hop artist, producer and performer from the Rosebud Sioux Reservation. Waln is a three-time Native American Music Award winner, a Gates Millennium Scholar and a recipient of the Mayor’s Award For Civic Engagement from Columbia College. Waln has dedicated much of his life to the community and working on youth engagement and empowerment, both locally and nationally. He uses his voice, music and performance to make statements about his reality as a young indigenous person and to address the issues effecting indigenous communities.
