Center for Arab American Philanthropy

The Center for Arab American Philanthropy (CAAP) is a national community foundation. An institution of ACCESS, CAAP’s objective is to unite and empower the Arab American community by demonstrating the impact of giving together.

Founded in 2010, CAAP’s aim is to improve communities by making grants to nonprofit organizations; serve donors by providing them with smart tools and resources to carry out their philanthropic giving; build leaders by educating and inspiring Arab Americans, including youth, to realize their potential for change; and most of all, we shape perceptions about Arab Americans by highlighting their generous heritage and exceptional contributions to society. CAAP works to maximize the impact of giving through:

  • Donor-Advised Funds that allow donors to determine the organizations and issues they want to support, while providing access to CAAP’s professional staff members who share their knowledge, expertise and guidance
  • Giving Circles that provide donors with the opportunity to combine their giving with others and learn more about the organizations they help fund
  • Impact Area Funds including Scholarship Funds that provide donors an opportunity to support underserved students across the country with the financial means to reach their educational goals in diverse fields such as STEM, Communications, Engineering, and Business
  • Community Grantmaking that strengthens and empowers Arab American organizations across the country
  • Building Blocks for New Americans Fund (BBNA) supporting New American families fleeing war, hunger, and many other hardships with the necessary resources to adjust to new life in the U.S.
  • Empower Women and Children Fund supports Arab American organizations that addresses unmet needs for vulnerable women and children, particularly in advancing opportunities for women in the workplace
  • Teen Grantmaking Initiative (TGI) — The only Arab American youth philanthropy program in the country.
