ACCESS hosting job fair in Dearborn, at Ford Community and Performing Arts Center

Over 2,100 job seekers attended the ACCESS Employment and Training Department’s 2014 Holiday Job Fair that was held at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center on October 15, 2014.

The event hosted 96 employers, including large companies, like Quicken Loans, Meijer and Frito-Lay. Attendees were able to meet directly with hiring managers, and numerous job seekers were even interviewed on-site.

“We are pleased with the results of this event and proud to be able to provide employment opportunities to the surrounding Metro Detroit community,” said Najwa Hadous, ACCESS Employment & Training Department Director. “Through the years we have helped thousands of clients gain skills, find jobs, develop a sense of accountability, responsibility, and become financially independent and successful.”

ACCESS appreciates its partnership with SEMCA, who supported the decision of the agency’s Employment and Training Department to host the job fair off of ACCESS grounds.  The determination was made to move the event to the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center, because of the unprecedented turnout of employers, clients and community members at previous ACCESS job fairs.

“The mantra for this year’s job fair is connecting our clients, strengthening our economic engine, and empowering our region and community at large,” said Mustapha Mounajed, business employment services supervisor at the ACCESS Employment and Training Department.
