Healthy Moms Healthy Babies Program

Who We Are

The Healthy Moms Healthy Babies program is a home visiting program helping families affected by substance use by:

  • Improving their parenting skills.
  • Encouraging long-term recovery participation.
  • Connecting them to needed community services.
  • Champion them toward meeting their life, health, and family goals.

 

Who Qualifies

  • Pregnant people and families with kids 0-5 years old.
  • Prenatal use of alcohol, marijuana, Khat, and other drugs during pregnancy.
  • Exposure of a newborn to drugs.

 

Program Goals 

  • Promote healthy development and parent-child relationship
  • Enhance children’s learning and development
  • Minimize developmental delay
  • Identify delays as early as possible
  • Increase parent involvement in early education
  • Improve the support available to help children succeed later in school and life
  • Prevent child abuse and neglect by promoting positive parenting.

 

Program Services 

  • Free, voluntary, in-home, family support services.
  • Coaching to support a healthy pregnancy.
  • Promoting a healthier environment for families affected by Substance Use.
  • Providing counseling and educational resources to address Substance Use issues.
  • Connecting with caring professionals for support, coaching, encouragement, and referrals to services.
  • Promoting Positive Parenting.
  • Focused on family goals and concerns.
The Healthy Moms Healthy Babies proudly serves pregnant women and families with children ages 0 to 3.

 

Target Audience 

Families with kids 0 to 5 years old, teen parents, families with children with developmental delays and low parenting skills, families dealing with child abuse and neglect, and families with a history of low school achievement or dropout.
